LILLY LORBER

My interdisciplinary work within dance and media seeks to disrupt the traditional passive intake of art and call audiences to be active proponents who are integral to the performance. I am interested in fleshing out and distilling common themes of human nature in dance, photography, and film; such as the individual’s place in the collective and constant redefinition of what it really means to touch, to see, to connect with other humans in these art forms. Finding merit in the smallest, repetitive motions while also pushing to the fullest, unapologetic abandon of the body is the continuum my movement lives on. Above all, I believe allowing dance, photography, and film to be never ending, open conversations with plenty of space for laughter and humor.
